I shaved off my hair!

Wow, do I ever look chunky in these shots. And I apologize for not shaving. But I welcome comments!

An update on the porn-related hits I was getting: after mentioning that I’d see what would happen over the next week – and editing my blog to take the ‘u’ and ‘c’ out of ‘f**k’ – my average hits dropped by about 70%. Currently, searches about fertilizer and burnt lawns bring in the most hits, which is par for the course ’round here. I don’t do this for hits, so I couldn’t care less, but it’s interesting to see porn’s affect on the ‘Net in this little bacwater microcosm of mine here. With all the sex and advertising, the Internet really does suck.
Anyhow! It’s fiscal year-end ’round here at work, and we happened to build out thirty new workstations while I’m trying to budget. Lots of fun, budgeting, when you’ve been working somewhere for five months. A very busy time for me, and I’m working late all nights instead of just most, so I’m hoping it drops off after April and May. I need a week’s vacation in the very worst way.
Facebook, which gave me something to do during breaks, has started connecting me with people I knew all the way back to Grade 9. I’m not sure that’s a good thing, but I guess I could always reject friendship requests if I wanted to. It’s an amazing phenomenon, and while I don’t check it super-regularly it’s at least the best tool I’ve seen for finding old friends and reconnecting with people you once new. One feature that seems like a great idea is to make high school-based clubs only available to current students. That’s good thinking on whoever was in charge of the ‘Net security aspect of it. But Facebook has it’s down side, too, like increasing my ability to make fun of co-workers who have to ride the bus to work in a public forum.

I Can Has Cheezburger, one of my new favourite blogs, is migrating. Follow the link when it does – this place is hilarious.

I’m a little disturbed by my blog’s stats:

Umm… alright. What the hell did I ever write about my wife and our marital relations that warranted sixteen hits? Because I’m a little stumped here. I’m curious as to what it could be… but also curious if adding words like “Cleveland Steamer” or “Barely Legal Anal Penetration” automatically gets one more hits. Guess we’ll find out! I’ll report in my next post.

Onwards and upwards, then! My job at The World’s Largest Software Company goes well, though relations are somewhat strained with my co-workers. I’ve never been a popular manager there – I killed all overtime the week after I started, thus reducing pay for two of my workers by about 30% – and the other manager from my company [we're vendors; that's my bud Barry above] is standoffish at best. But the client seems happy with me, and I’m busting my ass. My biggest project thus far begins next week, and it, like the rest of my projects, ends in May. I intend to take a nice week off to recover from these 60-hour work weeks I’ve been putting in.

Tania is doctor-bound next week to determine if there’s anything wrong with her baby-making factory. If she’s given the clean bill of goods, I’m next, and I guess we’ll see if my soldiers are too lazy to storm the beach or not. I’m also in a “teeth restoration program” at the dentist, and had two of them drilled today [pain-free, Shaun!] I’m also seeing Dr. Quack [that's my GP] shortly as I recover from my swollen uvula issue. Yay… craptacular.

Golf season has returned, and I’m going to post soon on G.O.L.F. about the first round of the year, played last Sunday at Deer Creek GC in Ajax. Yours truly hit a 101 in the cold, wind and rain, which is promising for me as I think I can drop ten strokes in peak conditions and flirt with breaking 90 consistently this year. That ought to help me get a chance at winning back the Valleywoods Cup, which Amir is holding above. On a related topic, Liam has been taking lessons from Dave Hartmann of Deer Creek, and he’s picking it up very nicely. Dave tells me kids just pick that stuff up easier.

My old cat Cali – my ex-wife’s cat for the last few years – died at home on Sunday. She was 14. You never saw a cat who was more vicious or crazy as a kitten, more loveable as an adult, or more sweet as an old lady. I’m glad she had her little family around when she passed away instead of lying on a cold table with a needle getting stuck in her. Much better this way. I’ll miss her.

I’m on Facebook now, which is where all of these linked pics are coming to you from. I’m too old for it, but it’s addictive. Search ‘Tim Wood’ in ‘Toronto’ and you’ll find me, or click HERE. Drop me a line!
More later. Hi Cindy!
