I haven’t updated in forever. I feel bad about that, so here I am. Incidentally, I am typing with a broken finger, having squashed it between sections of the garage door today. Oww.
Firstly, to blogolicious news: congrats to my fello blogger over at Driver Eight for successfully bringing the Boy King home. His Majesty is a handsome lad, and all the best to that family. They’re remarkable people. Also, Tracy’s posting again over at The Winter of My Discount Tent! Huzzah! I never see her, so I love it when she posts. Boom-Boom posts more at [G]od [O]nly [L]oves [F]ools more than I do these days, but he’s actually gotten to golf this winter in Florida, so I suppose this can be allowed. We get a surprising number of hits over there, which is something I can’t figure out.
To family business: Hailey’s birthday is Tuesday, so she had a sleepover party this weekend. All I can say is thank God I don’t have four girls. We also had Tania’s family over from down the road, as it’s also her cousin Allison’s birthday this week. Liam’s gotten in trouble for denting a car with an iceball at school [sigh], and Hailey for disprespecting the bus driver [double sigh], and this has resulted in early bedtimes for both until further notice. My mom continues to vacation in Alabama, where she goes every year for the winter to rent a condo on the Gulf, and Tania’s dad is moving next week into a smaller place in Pickering, having successfully sold his house at Yonge and Sheppard.
We painted the living room and dining room a very nice green colour two weeks ago, and laid all new baseboards and trim around the walls and doors, and it really looks great. It looks especially good now that Tania’s dad has given us his handmade china cabinet, sideboard and dining room table. That’s it behind his mug ther.

My job at The World’s Biggest Software Company is still super-busy, but I am enjoying it. Weather-wise, there have been some record-breaking snowfalls around here, so wherever you are, dear reader, you’ve still got better weather than me.
Keep it in the short grass,
BC
